Job Description

PTC Therapeutics seeks a Research Associate II in Biology to conduct experiments supporting early-stage drug discovery and lead optimization. The role involves executing assays, analyzing compound activity, and communicating findings to cross-functional teams in a fast-paced research environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute experiments and troubleshoot assays under general supervision within multi-disciplinary teams
• Support high-throughput screening, hit identification, and lead optimization through biochemical and cell-based assays
• Conduct mechanism-of-action studies using cellular and biochemical methods
• Document experimental results, maintain detailed laboratory notebooks, and present findings internally
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, SOPs, and laboratory safety protocols

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or Neuroscience with 2+ years relevant experience
• Hands-on experience with human tissue culture and cell-based assays
• Proficiency in RNA purification, qPCR, and molecular biology techniques
• Experience with high-throughput screening workflows and plate-based assays (96/384-well formats)
• Familiarity with discovery instruments (plate readers, flow cytometers, imaging systems)
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent written and verbal communication with analytical problem-solving abilities

Compensation: $77,100 - $97,000 base
